India, cause of global food crisis

Who do you think is responsible for the global food crisis?  America, because it is using food material for producing biofuel?  The wealthy classes that are buying up arable land for constructing resorts, villas, shopping complexes or residential apartments?  Whatever, you are wrong.  According to George W Bush, that is.

Bush thinks that the great Indian middle class is responsible for the food crisis.

He says, "just as an interesting thought for you, there are 350 million people in India who are classified as middle class. That's bigger than America. Their middle class is larger than our entire population. And when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food, and so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up."

Prosperity in India is the cause of the global food crisis, according to Bush. Bush's comment came close on the heels of his confidante, Condoleezza Rice's remark that 'apparent improvement' in the diets of people in India and China and consequent food export caps are among the causes of the current global food crisis.

So, the huge population of India and China are devouring a whole lot of food and creating the present food crisis.
